Soothe

“An emotive interplay between movement and science”

– DR LISA HARROW (cOMPASSIONATE MIND FOUNDATION)

Soothe is a rambunctious, thought-provoking dance show; combining emotive athleticism and cutting-edge science, from award-winning company Infusion Physical TheatreSoothe brings to life the Three Systems model of emotional regulation: Threat, Drive and Soothe and the hormones that power them. Contemporary dance, non-traditional partnering, digital media and an original score combine with a five–cast ensemble to examine the physical and emotional effects of adrenaline, dopamine and oxytocin. In a turbulent society, Soothe is the hunt for balance between the emotions that move us.

Originally debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022, Infusion Physical Theatre received subsequent support in 2024 from The Royal Society of Chemistry, Arts Council England, Fruk Labs and The University of Cambridge for further development and touring.

Workshops

Infusion’s experienced team of dance teachers take the psychological model of the Three Systems and makes it easily accessible through fun and engaging dance and movement workshops.
