  • Switzerland, summer 2018…

Infusion was pleased to offer physical theatre track as a part of the Ad Deum Dance Company summer intensive in Biel, Switzerland. Students of all levels from across Europe gathered to dance and mime, filling the afternoon elective track of physical theatre with 8-20 students every day. Exploring movement concepts such as transfer of weights, statues, creatures, characters the students helped develop presentations to share at the end of the week. Their works explored ideas of war, peace, famine, shipwreck, and rescue. Compelling stories told through the body.

The week finished with a double bill performance by Infusion and Ad Deum, celebrating beauty, sacrifice, joy, lament, freedom, and yearning.

Follow this Infusion teamed up with Swiss mime duo Artbeat, for an evening of antics and improve in a the beautiful city of Thun. Audience suggestions helped tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Dragon, like you’ve never seen it before!

  • Springs Summer School

We were pleased for Infusion’s Dan Cossette to be teaching for Springs Dance Company at their annual London Summer School. This brought aspiring dancers, and first time movers, from across England and Scotland, to receive technique instruction and creative/choreographic activities. The students developed their own dance which they presented before the main company’s evening performance at the end of the week. Springs performed Bread of Life, a beautiful depiction of Christ and the community and relationship he seeks with his disciples through the entryway of the bread and the wine. Following a similar theme the students brought vibrant images of unity-through-beautiful diversity as they explored their theme, One Body, One Church. Individuals’ movement blended into ensemble designs, before a network of connected dancers became so entwined that even a slight movement from a single member of the structure sent echoes through the entire formation. Great job dancers!

The Project Dance Foundation has been offering free dance festivals in the open squares of major cities around the world, dancing for hope, inspiration, and healing, since they started in New York City after the terror attacks on 9/11. Infusion was pleased to participate a third time at their Paris event, in the memorable Place de la Republiqué!

People stood or sat for hours, watching. Speaking with members of the festival staff and dancers, many people made it clear that the event meant much more to them than just a bit of diversion; it was life changing!

  • Spring’s Springs

Thanks to Springs Dance Company for an amazing tour. Infusion’s Dan Cossette joined a cast of 5 in Bread of Life. The thoughtful and beautiful contemporary dance show reflects of the Christian tradition of bread and wine and the person of Jesus Christ, following the characters’ struggle to discover the living presence of Jesus between the old rituals.

  • Show Launch Success

Special thanks to all those who came or contributed to the launch of our anti human trafficking show Just Sex. Saturday night was fantastic, with great insights from Dr. Carrie Pemberton Ford of Cambridge Centre of Applied Research in Human Trafficking, and the hard hitting dance performance by the multi-national cast members of Infusion!

We’re working on video of our full show, in the meantime catch some initial footage from our rehearsal sharing here!

Also, to find out more details about Just Sex, or to read more about our program for Sixth Form Colleges, you can still access the event details through our ticketing site for last Saturday. This event is no longer live.

  • January 27th sees the launch of our social justice show we’ve been working on for two years now!

A bold fusion of contemporary dance and physical theatre, Infusion takes a tour-de-force look at the backwards puzzle pieces of the life of a prostitute. Based on survivor stories and documentation, Infusion tackles human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and finds a surprise culprit. Hard-edged, fast-paced and soulful, this wordless epic exposes the powers and players of one of the world’s fastest growing criminal trades: sex.

  • Event Launch

Help us launch our new anti-human trafficking initiative titled Just Sex through our Eventbrite page:

We have a brilliant team of dancers, mimes, composer and lighting/sound designer committed to making this project happen. But we need people to get behind us, and get this important show out of the rehearsal studio, and off the page,  and into the minds and hearts of people across England. We also hope to tour internationallty in the future.

Will you be one of our partners, to make this vision come to life?

  • Into Development…

We are fundraising for a new show! Back us on Eventbrite…!

After 8 months of  intense research and logistics Infusion is taking on the issue of human trafficking.

We’re in development of a hard-hitting, soulful look into the modern day problem of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, to bring humanity and dignity to the trafficked persons on the street and on the other side of the webcam. The production is set to be a bone-jarring, high-energy, 30 minute physical journey through highs and lows of modern life in the digital age, staring down internet porn, human trafficking, and seduction of the human conscience. Through dance, mime, and original music Infusion crafts a 3D experience for all viewers of what happens when capitalism and desire meets poverty and desperation.

    But can our attitudes change?

These are some stats. Help us change them!

•Worldwide more than 800,000 men, women, and children are trafficked over borders (or moved within their own country) every year
•77% of trafficked victims are women
•87% of trafficked victims are sexually exploited
•Human trafficking is a worldwide criminal activity with annual profits estimated to be $36 billion
•London police estimate that 70 percent of the 88,000 women involved in prostitution in England and Wales are under the control of traffickers
